Red light therapy beds and systems

Red and near-infrared light devices come in full-body beds, stand-up systems, recliners and smaller panels and pads. Beds cover the whole body at once and need more space and often more power. This guide helps you compare formats before you look at individual models.

How to read the specs

  • Wavelengths: red (about 620–700 nm) and near-infrared (about 700–1,100 nm). Beds we carry list combinations such as 633, 660, 810, 850 and 940 nm.
  • Irradiance (mW/cm²): light power at the skin. Compare it at a stated distance.
  • LED count: describes coverage and density, not power.
  • Pulse and duty cycle: some beds let you set them.
  • Power and size: check voltage, dimensions, weight and doorway width.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about choosing, powering and buying a red light bed

Red light therapy uses LEDs to deliver light in the red and near-infrared range. The beds we carry list wavelengths from 633 to 940 nm, often several in one unit. It is offered for general wellness use and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

A bed covers your whole body at once, while a panel covers a smaller area at a time. In return, a bed is larger, usually needs a dedicated circuit and ships by freight, whereas a panel is compact and easier to place. The better fit depends on your space, your power and how you plan to use it.

Most Merican beds need a dedicated 220/380 V circuit installed by a licensed electrician, and they ship without a plug. The M4N Plus is the exception: it comes with a plug and runs on 110/220 V. Either way, have an electrician confirm the outlet and circuit for your location before you order.

Space varies by model. The Merican Plus beds measure from about 76 × 34 in (M4N Plus) to about 90 × 49 in (M5N Plus and M6N Plus) and stand 32 to 44 in tall, while the M11 Plus stand-up needs about 54 × 55 in of floor and 92 in of height. Leave airflow space around the bed, confirm ceiling clearance and measure doorways, hallways and the whole delivery path, because beds ship by freight (free in the continental U.S., not Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico or territories).

Yes, both. The Merican Plus listings state household or commercial use, so the same bed can sit in a home, studio, gym or spa. Settle the circuit, floor space and delivery route first, and if you plan to offer sessions, use our ROI calculator to run your own numbers.

Payment plans may be offered at checkout, depending on your order total and lender approval. Availability and terms vary, so see our financing page or call us before you order.
