A mobile liquid-nitrogen chamber with layered safeguards

The XR Cryo Chamber Lite is a mobile liquid-nitrogen cryotherapy chamber for studios and gyms. It rolls into place on lock-down industrial wheels and self-installs with a 110 V outlet, Wi-Fi and a liquid nitrogen supply. Dual fingerprint authorization requires approval by both the operator and the client, and the chamber includes an emergency stop button, a shut-off valve that stops nitrogen flow and a closed-door sensor. Real-time thermal imaging shows skin temperature for informational purposes, and a built-in point of sale and Wi-Fi connectivity handle accounts, subscriptions, software updates and live diagnostics. Session time is controllable from 1 to 3 minutes, using 2 to 3 liters of liquid nitrogen per treatment. It is built from 316 stainless steel and designed, manufactured and assembled in Southern California.

Best for: Studios and gyms that want a wheeled, self-installing whole-body chamber with thermal imaging, dual fingerprint authorization and a built-in point of sale.

What a session looks like

Waivers and contraindications are stored digitally, and both the operator and the client authorize the session with their fingerprints. The client steps in for a session of 1 to 3 minutes, set by the operator, while the chamber distributes cooling evenly using the manufacturer's proprietary dispersion technology. The emergency stop button and shut-off valve stop nitrogen flow at any time, and the closed-door sensor shuts the valves if the door is open. There is no dry-out time between sessions. Every session should be run by trained operators following the manufacturer's safety protocol.

Choosing the right model

For a self-serve, nitrogen-free option, the XR Cryo Kiosk is electric and runs unattended. For handheld, localized CO₂ treatment with thermal imaging, see the XR ISO.

Safety and who should not use it

Cryotherapy is intended for healthy adults using it as directed. Anyone with a medical condition, or who is unsure whether they are eligible, should speak with a physician first. The manufacturer lists the following as conditions to check before treatment:

  • Heart and circulation: peripheral arterial disease, ischemic heart disease, unstable angina, arrhythmia, heart attack or stroke within the past 12 months, valve disease or heart failure, uncontrolled high blood pressure, deep vein thrombosis and other circulatory problems
  • Lungs and nervous system: COPD, symptomatic lung disorders, cold-activated asthma, certain nervous-system conditions
  • Surgery and devices: heart surgery, including pacemakers and defibrillators
  • Infection: active skin infections, open wounds or ulcers, active tuberculosis, current urinary tract infection
  • Other: severe anemia, severe claustrophobia, acute kidney or chronic liver disease, diabetes, vasculitis, Raynaud's disease, polyneuropathy, bleeding disorders, cold hypersensitivity (such as cold urticaria), active cancer, seizure disorders, excessive sweating
  • Pregnancy or possible pregnancy

User safety guidelines

  • Wear undergarments at all times during sessions.
  • Do not use the chamber with rashes or open wounds.
  • Remove lotions before treatment and do not apply them beforehand.
  • Make sure there is no sweat or body jewelry before entering.
  • Keep your head up throughout the session, and never inhale nitrogen gas.
  • Keep your shoulders centered with the blue N₂ panel for proper positioning.
  • Cover hands and feet with the provided warm gloves and boots to help prevent frostbite.

Whole-body cryotherapy involves extreme cold and, in nitrogen systems, a cryogenic gas. Use only as directed by the manufacturer, with trained operators, and in line with local codes. Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition. Results vary.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the lead time?

Manufacturer lead time is typically about 2–4 weeks; we confirm timing at quote.

What power does it need?

A standard 120 V AC, 60 Hz, 15 A circuit. The manufacturer lists an average of 0.084 kW and a maximum of 0.780 kW, with 0.5 A average and 6.5 A maximum current.

What ventilation is required?

A ceiling exhaust fan, exhausted outside, as an independent system. Size it at 1 CFM per 1 square foot of room and round up (for example, 100 sq ft = 100 CFM and 110 sq ft = a 150 CFM fan). Do not place it directly over the unit; place it about 3 ft from the chamber to its right.

What do I need for liquid nitrogen?

Liquid nitrogen is not included. You need a local supplier and storage, and the manufacturer lists a dewar supply pressure of 35 PSI. Cryo Innovations lists liquid nitrogen supplier sourcing as part of its support. The manufacturer states the plumbing is designed in accordance with ASME B31.1 and B31.3, the International Fire Code, the International Mechanical Code and NFPA 55, and that the electrical is UL Listed (UL file E474341).

What installation is required?

Self-install. You need a 110 V outlet, Wi-Fi and a supply of liquid nitrogen. The chamber is mobile on lock-down industrial wheels. Measure the doorway, delivery route and room. Our team can help you plan it and request a quote.

How big and heavy is it?

Height 93.75 in, width 51.75 in, depth with door 34.5 in; usable height up to 7 ft 2 in. Total weight is 605 lbs, and the shipping weight with packaging is 1,000 lbs. The supplier's brochure lists an exterior footprint of 44 in × 34 in, which differs from the spec sheet, so we confirm the exact footprint at quote.

Can I finance a commercial purchase?

Payment plans may be offered at checkout depending on your order total, location and lender approval. Ask us about options for commercial purchases.
