Self-serve electric cryotherapy with no liquid nitrogen

The XR Cryo Kiosk is a fully autonomous, self-serve electric cryotherapy chamber designed for commercial locations. It uses refrigerated air instead of liquid nitrogen, and the manufacturer lists a chilling capability of −180°F with wind chill factor. No staff are required: RFID-verified unique-user access and control, a built-in point of sale and built-in waivers let clients handle access, waiver and payment on their own, and a Wi-Fi companion app manages purchases and packages. The manufacturer lists 8–9 sessions per hour with 5 minutes between clients, and an initial cooldown of up to 1 hour at startup. Choose the 1-person or 2-person configuration; an optional expandable cabin can fit 2–3 people (the What's Included tab lists the package contents). Engineered and manufactured in the United States.

Best for: Gyms, spas, studios and training facilities that want a self-serve, pay-and-go chamber.

What a session looks like

Clients access the kiosk with an RFID-verified phone, complete the waiver and payment through the built-in point of sale, and use the Wi-Fi companion app to manage their purchases and packages. Music (Bluetooth-enabled), mood lighting and fan speed are adjustable, and entry is through an electro-magnetic door.

Choosing the right model

If you want an operator-led, mobile liquid-nitrogen chamber, see the XR Cryo Chamber Lite. For a handheld, localized CO₂ system with thermal imaging, see the XR ISO.

Safety and who should not use it

Cryotherapy is intended for healthy adults using it as directed. Anyone with a medical condition, or who is unsure whether they are eligible, should speak with a physician first. The manufacturer lists the following as conditions to check before treatment:

  • Heart and circulation: peripheral arterial disease, ischemic heart disease, unstable angina, arrhythmia, heart attack or stroke within the past 12 months, valve disease or heart failure, uncontrolled high blood pressure, deep vein thrombosis and other circulatory problems
  • Lungs and nervous system: COPD, symptomatic lung disorders, cold-activated asthma, certain nervous-system conditions
  • Surgery and devices: heart surgery, including pacemakers and defibrillators
  • Infection: active skin infections, open wounds or ulcers, active tuberculosis, current urinary tract infection
  • Other: severe anemia, severe claustrophobia, acute kidney or chronic liver disease, diabetes, vasculitis, Raynaud's disease, polyneuropathy, bleeding disorders, cold hypersensitivity (such as cold urticaria), active cancer, seizure disorders, excessive sweating
  • Pregnancy or possible pregnancy

Whole-body cryotherapy involves extreme cold and, in nitrogen systems, a cryogenic gas. Use only as directed by the manufacturer, with trained operators, and in line with local codes. Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition. Results vary.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the lead time?

Manufacturer lead time is typically about 16 weeks; we confirm timing at quote.

How many sessions can it run per hour?

The manufacturer lists 8–9 sessions per hour, with 5 minutes between clients. Initial cooldown on startup takes up to 1 hour.

What power does it need?

A 220 V, 3-phase service rated 60 A at start-up (running: water chiller 23 A, cabin 27 A). The manufacturer also lists 9 kW. Confirm the full electrical requirements with the manufacturer before you order.

What space, humidity and ventilation should I plan for?

Ideal room humidity is below 35%, so an HVAC or dehumidifier may be needed. About 9 kW per hour of heat is released to the room, and defrost water output is about 1 pint per day at 35% humidity, collected in a removable tank on board. Recommended ventilation clearance is 16–20 in on the right and 2–6 in on top (recommended if possible, not required). The unit is designed to fit a standard door frame and an 8 ft ceiling, with no roof penetration, and is designed for self-installation. Wi-Fi or CAT 5 internet is required.

What is the footprint, and how heavy is it?

Overall height is 94.5 in and total weight is 2,000 lbs (cabin 1,700 lbs assembled + chiller 300 lbs). Width and depth are shown differently in two manufacturer documents, so we confirm the exact footprint with the manufacturer at quote. Ask us and we will confirm it before you order.

How does self-serve work, and what does the companion app do?

Clients access the kiosk with RFID-verified unique-user access, complete the built-in waiver and pay through the built-in point of sale. The Wi-Fi companion app lets clients manage purchases and packages and buy sessions. Music, mood lighting and fan speed can be customized.

Can I finance a commercial purchase?

Payment plans may be offered at checkout depending on your order total, location and lender approval. Ask us about options for commercial purchases.
