Horizontal vs. Vertical Hyperbaric Chambers: Pros, Cons, and Who Each Suits

Short answer: Horizontal chambers let you lie down or recline and need floor length (up to about 8.5 feet). Vertical and sitting chambers let you sit in a chair, work at a desk or stand, and take less floor length, but the walk-in vertical models need ceiling height of about 6.5 to 7 feet. Choose horizontal if
- You want to lie flat or recline for the whole session.
- You have the floor length, or plan to use a spare room.
- You want the widest range of sizes.
Choose vertical or sitting if
- Getting down to and up from the floor is difficult, and walk-in or seated entry is easier.
- You want to sit up, read, watch something or work at a desk during a session. The Summit to Sea Vertical Dive lets you sit at a desk or chair, and a person about 5 feet tall can stand. The Grand Dive Vertical fits one or two people, and people up to about 6 feet tall can stand.
- You have limited floor space but adequate ceiling height.

- Summit to Sea vertical models run on a standard 15 to 20 amp outlet. The Grand Dive Vertical draws about 200 W.
- Summit to Sea vertical chambers include an antibacterial carpet and Bluetooth speakers.
